Invoice app for tradesmen in South Africa
BlitzBooks is an invoicing app for South African tradesmen. Each invoice prints as a tax invoice with your VAT number, VAT at 15%, your banking details and a due date. Start one from an accepted quotation or from scratch, share it on WhatsApp or email, and record each payment as it lands so the balance stays right.
How it works in the app
- Step 1
Start from the quotation
Tap Convert to Invoice on an accepted quotation and every line carries across. Or start a new invoice and pick the client.
- Step 2
Set the terms and send
Choose COD, 7, 14, 30 or 60 days, or a custom due date. Preview the PDF, share it on WhatsApp or email, and mark it sent.
- Step 3
Record the payment
Tap Record Payment and enter the amount, date and method. Part payments are fine: the balance due drops with each one until the invoice is paid in full.

Tax invoice details in place
Your VAT number and the customer's, the subtotal excluding VAT, VAT at 15% and the total, on every invoice.

How to pay you, printed
Your bank, account number and branch code, with a line asking the customer to use the invoice number as their payment reference.

Payments received, shown
Once a payment is recorded, the invoice lists each payment and the balance still due, so a part-paid invoice explains itself.

Overdue at a glance
An unpaid invoice past its due date is flagged overdue in red, on the invoice and in your invoice list.

Questions about invoices
Are BlitzBooks invoices valid tax invoices for SARS?
Yes, if you are VAT registered and your VAT number is in Settings. Each invoice is headed Tax Invoice and shows your VAT number, the customer's if you add it, VAT at 15% and the totals. Our guide to what must be on a tax invoice lists every field SARS looks for.
Can I invoice without a quotation?
Yes. Start a new invoice, pick or type the client and add your lines from the catalogue or by hand. You can also copy the lines from an earlier quotation, invoice or pro forma.
Can I record a part payment?
Yes. Record each payment as it comes in, by EFT, cash, card, cheque or other. The balance due drops with each one, and the invoice shows paid in full when it reaches zero.
Can I put my own terms on invoices?
Yes. Set your invoice terms once in Settings and they print at the bottom of every invoice. You can change them on any single invoice.
