Job card app for South African tradesmen
A job card in BlitzBooks records what really happened on site. Turn an accepted quotation into a job and its lines carry across, then add time on and off site, kilometres, extra work and the materials and labour actually used. The customer signs on your phone, and the finished job becomes a tax invoice in one tap.
How it works in the app
- Step 1
Switch job cards on
In Settings, turn on Track jobs and scheduling. Job cards and the calendar appear in the menu.
- Step 2
Create the job
Tap Convert to Job on an accepted quotation, or book a job from the calendar. Add the site address, a map pin and the dates.
- Step 3
Fill it in and invoice
Record what was used, have the customer sign, mark it done, then tap Create Invoice.

Quoted versus used
The quotation lines arrive pre-filled. Change quantities and add extras on site, and the invoice bills what was actually used.

Customer sign-off
The customer signs on your screen to confirm the work was carried out to their satisfaction. A printed card has a line to sign by hand.

Time and travel
Time on and off site gives the hours. Odometer readings out and in give the kilometres, which print only if you fill them in.

The site, not the billing address
The card prints the site address so the crew goes to the right place. Drop a pin and Navigate to site opens Google Maps directions.

Questions about job cards
What is a job card?
A job card is the record of one job: where it was, who did it, how long it took, what was used and the customer's sign-off. In BlitzBooks it is also what you invoice from.
Can my field techs fill in job cards?
Yes, on the Team plan. Each field tech gets their own login and sees only job cards and the calendar, with prices hidden. See team logins.
Can I add photos to a job card?
Photos go on the invoice rather than the job card. Attach them to the invoice you create from the job, and choose whether to print them on an extra page.
Do I have to use job cards?
No. Job cards stay off until you switch them on in Settings. If you only quote and invoice, you never see them.
