Quotation app for South African tradesmen
BlitzBooks is a quotation app for South African tradesmen. You build the quote on your phone from your saved price list, it adds VAT at 15% and works out the deposit and balance in rand, and you share it as a branded PDF on WhatsApp or email. When the customer accepts, it becomes a tax invoice in one tap.
How it works in the app
- Step 1
Add the customer and the job
Pick a saved client or type their details in. Add a short job description and, if they gave you one, their purchase order number.
- Step 2
Price it from your catalogue
Tap From Catalog to pull in your usual items, or type a line yourself. Add headings to split labour from materials. VAT and the deposit are worked out as you go.
- Step 3
Preview and send
Check the PDF in Preview, then share it on WhatsApp or email. Mark it sent, then accepted or rejected when the customer answers.

Save any line to your catalogue while you quote, or import your existing list from a spreadsheet. Next time it is one tap.

Deposit and balance on the page
Set the deposit percentage and the quotation prints a payment schedule: the deposit on confirmation, the balance on completion.

Start from an earlier quotation, invoice or pro forma and change only what is different.

Valid-until date and your terms
Every quotation carries a valid-until date, 30 days unless you change it, and your own terms and conditions.

Can I make a quotation on my phone?
Yes. BlitzBooks runs on any modern iPhone or Android phone, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like any other app. You build, preview and send the quotation from the phone.
Is there a free quotation app version?
No, there is no free plan. BlitzBooks has a 7-day free trial (a card starts it, and you pay nothing if you cancel in Settings before it ends), then it is R200 a month for the whole business. For a one-off, our free quotation template costs nothing.
Does the quotation show VAT?
Yes, if you are VAT registered. Each quotation shows the subtotal excluding VAT, VAT at 15% and the total including VAT, with your VAT number and the customer's if you add it. Not registered? Set your VAT rate to 0 in Settings and the VAT lines drop off.
What happens when the customer accepts?
Mark the quotation accepted and tap Convert to Invoice. BlitzBooks creates a draft tax invoice with the same lines, ready to check and send. If you use job cards, you can turn it into a job first and invoice what was actually used.
How long is a quotation valid for?
As long as you set. Every quotation gets a valid-until date, 30 days by default, and you can change the default in Settings or the date on any single quotation.
