VAT report for your SARS VAT201 return
The BlitzBooks VAT report works out the figures for your SARS VAT201 return. Pick your two-month VAT period for Category A or B, and it totals your sales excluding VAT, the output VAT at 15% on your invoices, the input VAT on expenses with a valid tax invoice, and the net VAT payable to SARS or refund due.
How it works in the app
- Step 1
Pick the period
Choose Category A or B, then pick the VAT period from the list. This month, last month or your own dates work too.
- Step 2
Check the figures
The VAT201 summary shows sales excluding VAT, output VAT, input VAT and the net amount, with every invoice and expense listed underneath.
- Step 3
File and keep the pack
Capture the figures on SARS eFiling. Share the report as a PDF, or export a CSV for your bookkeeper.
The details that matter
-
Output VAT from your invoices
Every invoice dated in the period counts, by invoice date. Drafts are left out.
-
Input VAT from your expenses
Only expenses marked as having a valid tax invoice are claimed. The rest are listed, with the VAT not claimed shown.
-
Fixed costs included
VAT on recurring costs like rent and software counts for the period, where you marked them as including VAT.
-
Category A and B periods
The two-month SARS periods for both categories, and your phone remembers which one is yours.
